The axe throwing experience lasts for 2.5 exhilarating hours, during which time you’ll get to grips with the axe and as a weapon, learning the basic skills behind this unusual medieval sport. After a thorough safety briefing (you are throwing axes after all!), and an introduction to the sport and the weapon, you’ll get straight down to throwing. To have any chance of success you’ll need good technique – proper stance, a correct grip, and precision throwing – and your highly experienced instructors will make sure this is the basis of your lesson.

The rest of your lesson will be spent improving your time is spent honing your skill and hitting those targets, as well as taking part in a few competitive games to really put your new warrior credentials to the test. Instructors will be there throughout your lesson to offer advice, tips and hints to help you further improve and be the best medieval axe thrower you can be! It’s a fun and unique sport, it’s learned in a totally safe environment, and it’s definitely one to brag about afterwards!

First stop is Westminster Abbey, the magnificent Gothic cathedral next to the Place of Westminster, the most important religious building in all of the United Kingdom. This church is where Britain's kings and queens are traditionally crowned and also where they are eventually buried.

A working research institution as well as a fabulous museum, the Natural History Museum opened on the Comwell Road in 1881 in Alfred Waterhouse’s purpose-built Romanesque cathedral of nature. Enhanced by the splendid Darwin Centre extension in 2009, the original building still looks quite magnificent. The pale blue and terracotta façade goes some way to preparing you for the natural wonders within!

You will meet the guide outside to start a journey through this fantastic museum that promotes the discovery and enjoyment of the natural world through exciting exhibits such as the Life and Earth Galleries, the wildlife garden and several geological collections.

The Museum was awarded first prize in the Best for Free Activities and Best for Learning categories in London at the 2018 Hoop Awards, and it hosts about 70 million artefacts held in five different main collections: botany, entomology, mineralogy, palaeontology and zoology.
